DLX Design Labとシンガポール国立大学 熱帯海洋科学研究所のコラボレーションで生まれたCoral RescueプロジェクトがWIRED Creative Hack Award 2023でグランプリを受賞しました。
12月19日に授賞式があり、このプロジェクトのリードであるDLX Design Labの特任研究員の左右田智美が出席しました。このプロジェクトは1月から米日財団からの助成金が決定しています。
現在育成を手助けするIoTデバイスとアプリを開発しており、来年4月に日米の高校生を結んだ教育プログラムを実施予定しています。
Coral Rescue -Conserve Together- について
Coral Rescueは家庭でサンゴを育て、研究者の指導の元海に戻し、皆で海洋の生物多様性を育てていく、新しいエコシステム創生のプロジェクトです。

The Coral Rescue project, a collaboration between DLX Design Lab and the National University of Singapore's Institute of Tropical Marine Sciences, has won the Grand Prix at the WIRED Creative Hack Award 2023.
The award ceremony was held on 19 December and attended by the project's lead, Tomomi Sayuda, Design Researcher at DLX Design Lab. The project has been awarded a grant from the US-Japan Foundation from next January. IoT devices and apps are currently being developed to help foster the project, and an educational programme connecting high school students in the US and Japan is scheduled to be implemented in April next year.
